Art, and GEMS Working Group- nf
Creativity is integral to organizing for climate justice. Coherent visual images that amplify our message, whether we’re on the streets or on the internet , is critical. We always look to maximize opportunities for creativity, including music, theater and visual art in whatever we do
WHO WE ARE: We do art individually and GEMS is an art working group. We are activists in a variety of directions who come together sharing an interest in creating visual symbols that will bring attention to the messages of environmental healing that 1000 Grandmothers seeks to communicate in marches, rallies, and other actions. Other Art activities have included painting banners, streets, patches, - generally coming together to do art under the direction of David Solnit who is a wonderful, nationally engaged arts activist/organizer whose home base is in the Bay Area.
