WHO WE ARE: 
GEMS is an art working group.  We are activists in a variety of directions who come together sharing  an interest in creating visual symbols that will bring attention to the messages of environmental healing that 1000 Grandmothers seeks to communicate in marches, rallies, and other actions. 
WHAT WE DO:
The GEMS collaborated in producing the giant Grandma puppet and have participated in making banners, parasols, street art, posters and web art, etc.  This group supports the unique creativity of each member by honoring the collaborative process and truly listening to each other.

1000 Grandmothers has made banners, hundreds of signs, a beautiful puppet, posters, digital art, and more will come.  We want to give a shout out to David Solnit, Arts Organizer-extraordinaire for his inspiration and support of the 1000 Grandmothers arts/activism.
